I get it...sometimes the idea of cleaning your home when you have a newborn + other kiddos running around sounds daunting.
And then sometimes people just fall in love with the look of my studio and would rather have their newborn session take place there.
Whatever you choose if fine with me! My studio is located in Aledo, Texas and is set up to feel nice and cozy and home-like. I will guide you into the same kind of interactions that I would during a Welcome Home Baby session so the overall vibe will be similar...just at a different location.

When I began capturing newborns at home, I knew I wanted to name my sessions something relevant to this joyfully anticipated event, and that's how Welcome Home Baby sessions were born.
You waited a long time...meticulously planned their nursery...curated a precious little baby wardrobe...chose the perfect name...all in anticipation of welcoming this new beautiful being into your lives and your home.
Welcome Home Baby sessions are 75-90 minute sessions focused on capturing your new bond and just how perfectly your baby fits into your arms and your family. I will travel to your home anywhere in Dallas, Fort Worth, Aledo, Southlake, Frisco and surrounding areas.

I'm not going to force your older kids to be "perfect" and I'm not going to twist or contort your newborn into any complicated poses. Instead I'll guide you to connect in a way that is purely authentic and beautiful that will make your heart burst!
I will find the best source of natural light in your home (or my studio) to capture your family and baby in. Good lighting goes a long way in creating dreamy images.
I will put everyone at ease and take the guesswork out of your session by guiding you into beautiful, natural (and fun!) interactions that create the most magical moments for photos.

A. Rest assured, I have photographed a crying baby or two...and we still got PLENTY of beautiful photos. Babies cry when they need something...usually food, soothing, a change in position or a new diaper. I'm a baby whisperer and will whisper that sweet angel into a happier state...don't you worry! You're hiring a professional for a reason!
Q. Have you ever have a baby that cries the whole time? What happens then?
A. Something simple and sweet! I recommend NOT putting your newborn in "fancy clothes" or collared outfits for this session. Newborns really photograph best in buttery soft, stretchy jammies, gowns or onesies. Having blankets on hand for warmth and texture is always a great idea.
Q. What should my baby wear for their newborn session?
A. YES! And by the way, everyone says this. Your home does not to be professionally decorated to have beautiful photos made. We need windows for light and a famliy that's in love with their new baby. That's it. Leave the magic of creating beautiful photos up to me!
Q. My house doesn't look perfect. Is that okay?
A. I don't rush to photograph newborns unless it's a Fresh 48 session! Lifestyle newborn sessions can happen anytime between 1-10 weeks after they are born (some moms like to give themselves a minute to adjust and heal before booking photos and that is 100% okay!)
Q. How old should my baby be for their newborn session?

A. I LOVE capturing both skin-to-skin and breastfeeding images. This is such a profound and beautiful way to bond with your baby and it's something that passes by so fast. If I could go back in time, I would have photos like this with my babies. I wish someone had told me how much I would miss it!
Q. What if I want skin-to-skin or breastfeeding photos?
A. The main difference is whether you're coming to me or I'm coming to you. I would say it's easier for you to stay at your home...but the studio is always open and feels cozy...like a home.
Welcome Home Baby sessions also give us the opportunity to capture your family in your own home and there's something uniquely special about that.
Q. What's the difference between your at-home or studio newborn sessions?
A. I do NOT expect clients to just know what to do to prepare for their session. Once you book, we will send you a Prep Guide that covers what to wear, how to prep your home, what to expect and more. Don't worry...I am here to help every step of the way so on the big day, you can just take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the time cuddling your baby while I preserve all the little details!
Q. What do we need to do to prepare?
A. At this time, I only photograph newborns as part of a family unit! If you are okay with it, I *can* focus primarily on capturing photos of the baby, but you will definitely be in some of the photos (and trust me when I say 10 years from now, you'll thank me for it!)
Q. What if I just want photos of my baby and not myself/my partner?
