Me and my ideas.

I tell you…I have a zillion of them. Some are okay. Some are real stinkers. And then some are soooo good. I’m filing this one under FAVORITE!

Bluebonnet Mini Sessions are so popular in Texas, but I’ve never heard of cactus mini sessions. Or cactus sessions at all. But I love me some cactus, blooming or not…they’re just beautiful and provide some great texture and a different kind of green backdrop to photographs.

So I had this idea one day around lunch time and within four hours, I had gone to the store, picked out some flowers, handmade a floral crown, threw Hattie in this dress that I’d be dying to photograph her in, and texted my hubby to tell him to meet me at the cactus place to do a shoot while he was driving home from work. And because he’s the best husband ever, he did. He’s some kind of wonderful. This guy puts up with LOTS of crazy ideas from me, and he’s always supportive, no matter what.

Anyhow – the photos turned out so cute I just knew I had to open up some Cactus Minis. I had no idea if anyone would go for them, but they instantly got a lot of interest. Tonight is the night these minis start and I’m already so excited to see how all the photos turn out! But for now – here’s my little one, who happens to LOVE wearing floral crowns (and that’s the ONLY thing she will keep on her head!). She did pretty well…especially considering she wants nothing to do with my camera right now (and I had sworn off trying to photograph her again until she’s three…but, well…the cactus made me do it. And I’m so glad it did.).
