One thing I really love about lifestyle newborn sessions? There’s no rules. Unlike heavily posed newborn sessions, you don’t have to get them in to a studio almost the minute you leave the hospital so they’ll stay asleep the whole time. If they wake up during their lifestyle session? Yay! We’ll get some images with eyes open! If they need to be fed? Awesome! Let’s capture that, because these little moments are fleeting and I think they’re just as cute as anything.

This momma had done the whole “normal” newborn shoot before and she knew she wanted to wait a bit before doing this one. So we scheduled her shoot for about 4 weeks after her due date and oh my gosh…I LOVED this session. Every bit as much as I love my typical one-week-past-due-date newborn sessions. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that this family was gorgeous, their home was beautiful, and there was a pretty consistent blue and white theme throughout this whole session. I love me some blue and white so I was in color HEAVEN at this house!
